NASA Names Mars Curiosity Landing Site After Ray Bradbury

NASA announced that they have named the site where their Mars rover Curiosity made its historic landing after the late sci-fi author Ray Bradbury.

Author of The Martian Chronicles and many other lauded works of science fiction, Bradbury, who died in June, was a hugely influential figure to artists and scientists alike.

"This was not a difficult choice for the science team," said Michael Meyer, NASA program scientist for Curiosity. "Many of us and millions of other readers were inspired in our lives by stories Ray Bradbury wrote to dream of the possibility of life on Mars."
