Samsung Galaxy S3 Getting Jelly Bean in October

It’s not really a stretch to say Samsung’s Galaxy S3 is the best Android phone currently available. (Check out our full review.) Even as Apple and Nokia release their flagship phones this fall, the Galaxy S3 will still have a real case for being the best phone out there.

And next month it’s getting even better: Samsung has confirmed to Cnet UK that the Android 4.1 update is coming in October. (Check out our run-down of Jelly Bean’s best features here.) Samsung hasn’t always been the best about timely updates for its devices, so it’s exciting to see the company commit to supporting the S3.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to buy a Galaxy S3, it’s probably right now: Amazon Wireless is selling the 16GB Galaxy S3 for $99 with new contracts from Sprint, AT&T or Verizon, for a "very limited time." (It’s $149 for existing customers.)
